2000 BMW R1100R, This all around standard R1100 looks pretty darn nice at ten feet and actually looks darn good up close but when you try to start it is when you’ll understand why we selected to make it a Bob’s PROJECT BIKE. The seller, a long time customer claimed he last rode it in early 2013 and the fuel smells like it is that old or even a bit older. It did arrive with a working battery so we could check a lot of other stuff out even if we could not start and ride it. We could easily turn it into a perfect used BMW to place on the sales floor at Bob’s. It would likely sell fast as we never have enough good used, fully serviced BMW’s under $7,500 to satisfy demand.Way back in December of 2000 Bob’s sold this bike new to the only owner it ever had. H never rode it much but did have Bob’s do the initial break-in service in 2001 and then we performed two more oil and filter changes according to his records. Then we stopped seeing him and the bike. It was always garaged but unfortunately just not enjoyed often enough to keep everything in perfect condition or at least perfect enough to match the stupidly low mileage this bike has – just 3,896 original miles as documented.This is a non-ABS model and at that time a fair percentage of the standards, both opposed twins and K75’s were provided to the dealers without ABS. That actually means two things: one that this bike can be priced lower and two that there is no chance the ABS is not working since it was never there. It did come standard with the tele-Lever and Para-lever suspension system, the split radiators, four way emergency flashers, catalytic converter and the very nice three-spoke cast alloy wheels. Some of the extras include the BMWE cylinder guards, the chrome mirrors and matching bar end weights, Bob’s barbacks and a BMW windscreen. It also has a set of Givi bag mounts and luggage rack and a pair of large GIVI saddlebags. If one desires one bag can be left at home and the other mounted on the rack for a slimmer profile during your weekly commute, etc.
